Star Trek or Star Wars?

Star Trek!

A book you’re looking forward to release (by someone else)?

Anything Diana Palmer

When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?

Why back in the stone age! No, seriously, we’ve been around awhile – since 2012. Tried way before that, but thanks to Indie publishing we got our start then.

Where do you get your information or ideas for your books?

From the dang voices in our heads. A song, a commercial, a line from another book…

What is your work schedule like when you’re writing?

Every  spare minute! We both work full time jobs and care for loved ones. It’s a never ending battle to find time to write.

The image is a book cover for "The Grinch & Miss Goody-Two Shoes" by Patricia Mason and Joann Baker. The cover features a romantic holiday scene with a man and woman standing close together. The woman has long, dark hair and is wearing a light-colored dress, looking playfully at the man. The man, dressed in a dark suit, has his back to the viewer and is holding a red and white wrapped gift behind his back, suggesting a surprise. The background is decorated with festive Christmas garland, red ornaments, and a star, enhancing the holiday theme. The title is styled in a mix of red and green script and bold fonts, capturing a whimsical and romantic vibe.

Is there a trope you find yourself going back to in multiple works? Or one you avoid?

We love our cowboys and hope to do more in 2025. We love the fact that mountain men, grumpy, OTT males are finally finding their own standing. Been reading those for years – they just weren’t called that.

Do you hear from your readers much? What kinds of things do they say?

We love to hear from our readers – through email and the reviews they leave. Recently someone told us that they re-read one of our Christmas books – The Grinch and Miss Goody-Two Shoes every Christmas. It made us feel like we are writing for Hallmark!

What is your writing Kryptonite?

Time. Oh, to have more hours in the day to get everything done.

Did you ever consider writing under a pseudonym?

Who says we don’t?  Wink, wink…Lynn Richards…

Do you want each book to stand on its own, or are you building a body of work with connections between each book?

Connections!!!! It’s the way of the world now, even though its not a new concept. Take our fav author Diana Palmer – she wrote in her Long, Tall Texan Series for YEARS! Still does.

If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?

Don’t you dare stop writing!

Do you write novels, novellas, short stories, episodic fiction, poems, screenplays, or something else? What is your preferred format?

We Write Romance! The length ranges from 10K to 40K, with our sweet spot being about 20K

How many unpublished and half-finished books do you have?

Let’s just say we have several jump drives living with the dust bunnies.

What do you have coming next?

We are finishing our Lone Mountain series with 8 more books! Teaching the Grump will be out in September! It is an age-gap, mountain man, curvy girl story. That is a little steamy. EXCERPT:

Colt had barely touched me and I’d been ready to go off like a firecracker.

I wanted him to be my first, my last, my everything in between. It was crazy, reckless, diving headfirst into this intense, uncharted territory with a man I barely knew. But some bone-deep part of me just knew he was it for me. The one I’d been waiting for.

Assuming he still felt the same today.

Would Colt regret what had happened between us now that he’d had time to sleep on it? Had it just been a heat of the moment thing, a temporary insanity?

Despite my warm and fuzzy feelings – and heated core – I couldn’t let myself forget that Colt was more experienced for a reason. He’d probably had dozens of women, all more worldly and adventurous than me. Sure, the chemistry between us was combustible, but that didn’t mean he was looking for anything deeper.

I was just a warm, willing body. A pleasant distraction. He’d implied the same yesterday when he’d told me in no uncertain terms that he wanted to be balls deep inside me. An intense, shuddering heat rolled through me at the erotic memory, my body clenching down on a rush of moisture. It was reckless, idiotic, to hand my heart over so easily just because a man had lit a fire inside of me. But I couldn’t seem to stop myself from falling headfirst.

All I could do was pray I didn’t break too hard when I inevitably hit the ground.

I tried to shake off my nerves as I made my way into the kitchen, hoping against hope that I hadn’t imagined the connection between us. That it hadn’t just been one-sided.

Colt was already there, sipping coffee as he leaned against the counter. He glanced up when I entered, his gaze skating over me in a way that made my skin prickle with awareness. At the urging of my inner bad girl, I had traded my jeans for a pair of cut off shorts this morning, along with a tank top. It was supposed to be hot today, so I justified my clothing choices.

Lord, I hoped it was going to get hot today.
